The International Fertilizer Association (IFA) has awarded ICL Iberia its Green Leaf Award 2022 in recognition of the implementation of a new management system that has improved the health, safety and emissions of its activity. This prestigious award, which is presented biannually, recognizes outstanding performance in safety, health and environment (SHE) in the production of fertilizers by IFA members.

ICL Iberia has been selected, out of 25 projects presented in the category of phosphate/potash producers, for its environmental study on the actions carried out to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at its plant in Súria and its global management of safety, health and environment. The International Fertilizer Association, founded in 1927, is the world's only fertilizer association, with some 400 members in 70 countries. Its mission is to promote the efficient and responsible production, distribution and use of plant nutrients.

The independent experts who evaluated the ICL Iberia project stated that "the application from the ICL Iberia production site demonstrates in an impressive way how to manage responsible mining of fertilizers; this effort will also be reflected in the positive results of its key indicators. performance”.

The award was collected by Lluís Fàbrega and Roman Tejero, from ICL Iberia's Sustainability and Environment department, during the IFA General Meeting held in Vienna. Fàbrega, head of Sustainability and the Environment at ICL Iberia, explained that this award "is recognition of the effort being made by the company and confirms that we are on the right track". And that achieving sustainable mining is an ambitious and possible step towards which we must continue to walk”.
